CXXXVII.29. like you and me

Postby allenitz » Sat Nov 25, 2017 8:48 am

7 a.m.
the top of a tree
on the other side of the building facing me,
just a few thin, leafless branches silhouetted against the morning sun,
boney arms of night-walkers left behind,
refugee ghosts grasping
for the new light…

just like you and me,
even the winter-dead need
the sun

That could start a sci-fi or ghost story. Great image projected.

Image of a shivering day with people trying to warm themselves, probably in vain.

Bill's right. The close would make a good start to a horror story. As would this

boney arms of night-walkers left behind,
refugee ghosts grasping
for the new light…

Terrific imagery this morning....

both images awesome, Allen

and I'll nod to the secondary purpose of the ending stanza -- or perhaps the entire poem as the header for Chapter 1
