LXI-28 Touch the Rain

Postby Bill_Back » Mon Nov 27, 2017 11:04 am

Life has ups and downs. Sometimes there is pain, sometimes laughter, feast and famine, an oasis or not.

Touch the Rain
By Bill Backstrom

I thought of rain today
Although it isn’t raining
I thought of you
How once you sought my touch
Times change with seasons
Emotions drift and eddy
How difficult to touch you
Harder than reaching out
On a cool, dry day
Trying to touch the rain

A very good, though painful poem. Allen remarked on the excellent closing lines. Let me say the opening hurt, it was so good.

I'm quoting the opening, the middle, the end --- guess I got it all <:)

the challenges, in relationships whether spousal or with children (when they were young, they sought our touch -- hugs, words of comfort, etc)

That last part, though, wow-ser !!

Beautiful, Bill
