LXXXII-1 Musing on the Moon

Postby hawkseye » Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:00 pm

Musing on the Moon

Fog kept night’s chill
hanging around
until late morning,
though full blue sky
failed in its attempts
at bold brilliance,
remnants of fog clouds
and real clouds
drifted about
all day,
enough sun, however,
despite the haze,
for a warm afternoon,
yet when I spotted the moon
settled in the sky
before sunset,
he appeared tucked
beneath a scarf or blanket,
only bits of eyes and nose
available for my viewing interest.

Another chilly night ahead
matches this season
of body aches, sneezes, sniffles,
running their threads
through my housemates,
that family now tucked
beneath blankets
on the couch,
eyes focused, somewhat, on a movie,
hopefully keeping
their cold germs isolated
from me – and the moon.

This is the time of year for sniffles--chlly, damp mornings and evenings, warm afternoons. For people who are out and about all day, there's no way to dress for these changes in temperature. It's a wonder we aren't all sick.

Good vivid wather poem

Wayne

Great descriptions. In Minnesota, we are currently ten to fifteen degrees above average. No snow around my area as yet. Unusually warm. Keeps the heating bills down at least.
