woman
snapping pictures
with her cellphone
in the early dim
of morning

older woman
I think I may have known
twenty years ago

snapping
pictures of, well,
nothing that I can see

maybe she’s a world-renown
artists of the camera,
seeing things that only world-renown
artists of the camera can see

patterns
in the dim of early morning

or maybe she’s just a nut
taking pictures of nothing
that I can see
who would maybe
want to show me her
nothing I can see photos
if I said hello…

I don’t say hello

studiously study things around her
that only I can see…

Good contrast between seeing nothing and perhaps seeing something. This offers as good a definition of art as I can think of.

Maybe she is taking pictures of ghosts. Or Pokemon's.

Good poem about people.

Grand contrast here, Allen and study of human response to the world

we each study life through personal lenses, focused on what fuels our individual inner muse (in whatever guise suits each individual)

maybe she’s a world-renown
artists of the camera,
seeing things that only world-renown
artists of the camera can see

I don’t say hello

studiously study things around her
that only I can see…

Her view through the lens vs your view through a poet's eye/song

fascinating
