LXII-2 Holiday Lights

Postby Bill_Back » Fri Dec 01, 2017 12:30 pm

Holiday Lights
By Bill Backstrom

Grand-daughter Clara has been asking
To stay overnight with us
Doesn’t always work
But we’ll make it happen tonight

After school, my wife, Clara and I
Will drive to Mankato
Eat, maybe shop
Then once it is dark
We’ll drive through Sibley Park
Their Kiwanis has a Christmas Light display
Spread through that city park

By the time we are home
She should be ready to sleep
Or already asleep
Will make for a fun evening

Sounds good. Perfect for this time of year. Downright wholesome.

We were just informed that we will have the two younger grandkids tomorrow, between 10:30 and 2:30. Apparently, their parents have a life.

We're trying to decide what to do....

my wife much more enthusiastic about holiday lights than me. nevertheless, before the season is over i expect we will touring the campus of Incarnate Word University - a million trees and a trillion, jillion lights. i'm like your granddaughter, ready for bed well before the tour is over.

Ah, Christmas light displays -- can be a real joy, especially if the weather cooperates.

I remember taking my kids out -- and, more recently, enjoying lights around town and at the zoo with the grandkids

I'm a little bit apathetic about lights, though can enjoy them when seen through the delight of my grandkids.

Hope it was fun for you, Bill
