LXII-4 Mother's Nature Games

Postby Bill_Back » Tue Dec 05, 2017 10:59 am

Mother’s Nature Games
By Bill Backstrom

Yesterday noon was 59 degrees
Broke the old record of 58
Damn nice day

Temperatures declined during afternoon
As predicted by the forecasters
Dropped below freezing by evening
Light rain changed to sleet
A dusting of snow on top
No cherries

Today it is 18 degrees
Shivery wind tugs at ears
Probably gathered speed
Over South Dakota
Wind chill is minus 5 degrees

That is a sixty-three degree change
In less than 24 hours
Nature is playing games
And she is a real Mother

Yes, she is. And I thought she was moody down here. 59 to minus 5, that's just plain crazy.

great ending lines, Bill

this week you get the cold and Oregon gets unusual for December dry and cool (but not cold) and California burns...
